imageSteve Hale (Haler)

Steve is 47 years old and opened up his goalkeeping school in April 2007.

Steve, who holds the UEFA Goalkeeping A Licence, the top goalkeeping coaching licence in Europe, was recently First Team Goalkeeping Coach at League Two side Exeter City before sadly losing his role due to the Covid19 financial implications on football clubs. Prior to that he was First Team Goalkeeping Coach at Oldham Athletic (League Two) Walsall (League One) and before that the full time Head of Goalkeeping at League Two side Forest Green Rovers. His longest spell however was at his home town club Swindon Town FC where he was Head of Goalkeeping. There he looked after all the goalkeepers from Under 9 to full-time scholars (U18's) and the Senior Professional goalkeepers such as Lawrence Vigouroux (on loan from Liverpool), Tyrell Belford and previously Wes Foderingham and Cameron Belford.

Steve spent 9 years working with the academy at Swindon and then was promoted to also look after the first team for the last 2 years before he left.  In his first season with Forest Green Rovers in the National League he was part of the coaching staff that got the club promoted to the Football League for the first time, via the play off final at Wembley Stadium. This was Steve's second Play Off Final experience at Wembley Stadium after being part of the coaching staff that made the League One Play off final in 2015 when Swindon lost to Preston. Steve this season 2019/20 returned to Wembley for a third time coaching at the League Two play off final between his current club Exeter City and Northampton Town. Steve has great experience over his 13 years in a professional football club environment including just under 300 games as a first team goalkeeping coach.

Steve has also previously been goalkeeping coach at Southern Premier sides Chippenham Town and Cirencester Town.

Steve has played over 400 games in the Hellenic and Toolstation league for various teams.
