Goalkeeper Looking For Team

One of my existing goalkeepers who has previously won a "Goalkeeper of the Month" award is looking for a new team next season due to his current team folding at the end of this season.

He is currently playing Under 13 football, therefore will be looking for an Under 14 team next season.

STFC Academy Trials

THE Swindon Town Academy will be holding open goalkeeper trials ranging from under 9 to under 16 goalkeepers, based on next season's age groups.

Trialists will be put through their paces in a session put on by Academy Goalkeeping Coach, Steve Hale, at the club's training ground on Tuesday 23rd April starting at 5:00pm.

To be eligible for the trial the child must meet the following criteria:

-You must have played in goal for a team for a minimum of one season (preferably more for the 13s – 16s age groups)

-You must have been born in Britain or hold an EU passport

-You must live within one hour’s drive of Swindon

-Contact telephone number

-Playing experience so far

-Whether the child has received any specific goalkeeping coaching in the past or whether any presently takes place

Two Day Summer Course

Details have been finalised for a two day summer course on Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th June 2013 for boys and girls

 aged 8-16 years

The course will be held at Beversbrook Sports Facility in Calne, a fantastic facility which can be viewed on their website www.beversbrooksportsfacility.co.uk

The two day course will cover:

Footwork

Diving Saves

Shot-Stopping

Reaction Saves

Recovery Saves

One v One’s

Dealing with Crosses

Distribution

Communication

Penalty Competitions

Keeper Wars

Each goalkeeper will receive a trophy and certificate with further prizes up for grabs!

Subject to availability Swindon Town goalkeeper Leigh Bedwell will be in attendance to present prizes, sign autographs, pose for pictures and answer a few questions.

There will also be opportunity throughout the two days to purchase the new "Pro Grip" gloves at a special weekend only offer of £20.00 per pair or two pairs for £35.00!

Cost of the full two days will be £50.00

Upcoming Sessions

Wednesday 20th March will be the last session in March then there will be NO sessions on Wednesday 27th March and Wednesday 3rd April due to Half Term in Swindon. The next session will then be on Wednesday 10th April. 

Course Passed

Furthering his coaching education, Steve Hale today completed his FA Youth Award Module One at Bisham Abbey training centre and will now go on to study on the FA Youth Award Module Two in the near future. 

New Coach Onboard

Steve Hale Goalkeeping School would like to welcome Stuart Hutfield, who joins the coaching staff. 

Stuart who already had his FA Level One Goalkeeping Coaching award passed his FA Level Two Goalkeeping Coaching award in December 2012.

His photograph and details will be added to the staff section soon.
